MARION – The Palace Theater is preparing to bring DreamWorks’ animated film Madagascar to life on stage in October.

In preparation for production, “Madagascar, a Musical Adventure Jr.” Marion Palace Theater General Manager Bev Ford announces that the open auditions will take place on Sunday, August 29 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.






The Palace Theater is located at 270 W. Center St. in downtown Marion.


Director Kristi Wink is looking to recruit boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 15 to fill the roles of Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo and Melman the Giraffe among many other great characters. loved, for this Junior Palace Production. Listeners should come dressed in casual clothes and shoes suitable for performing the choreography. Those interested only in choirs will be invited to dance and sing with a group. Those wishing to audition for the lead roles are urged to prepare to sing a one-minute solo audition tune and read the script. A pianist will be provided.

No CD and no songs from the show. A “family” rehearsal program is planned from Monday to Thursday from 4.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. Performance dates of “Madagascar, A Musical Adventure Jr.” are October 8, 9 and 10, 2021 on the main stage of the Palace Theater.
